Vulpera

Horde
Introduction Vulpera
Clever and resourceful, the vulpera have survived amidst the harsh desert of Vol'dun for generations. Traveling in close-knit caravans, they watch out for each other as they scavenge supplies from across the dunes. Despite their small stature, they are fierce and cunning in battle, bringing down any enemy foolish enough to underestimate them. Now full-fledged members of the Horde, their wagons have left the sands in search of adventure.
History

The Vulpera are native to Vol'dun, a harsh, unforgiving wasteland that was once a lush jungle before a catastrophic war between the titan-forged and the insectoid Aqir shattered the region. Left to survive in the ruins, the Vulpera evolved into a deeply resilient, nomadic species.

For generations, they faced constant oppression and enslavement by the cruel, serpentine Sethrak empire. Because of their small stature, other races routinely underestimated them, which the Vulpera used to their advantage. When the Horde arrived in Vol'dun, the Vulpera provided critical survival guidance and scouts. In return, Horde champions helped them launch a successful rebellion to shatter the Sethrak slavers. Realizing the value of a larger global community, the Vulpera officially joined the Horde to offer their scouting expertise and clever survival tactics.

Starting Zone: Vol'dun
A vast, sun-bleached expanse of shifting sand dunes, jagged canyons, and ancient, skeletal ruins. Vol'dun is a deadly graveyard where only the most adaptable creatures can survive the scorching days and freezing nights. It is a land of scarce resources, where every scrap of metal, drop of water, or piece of leather means the difference between life and death.
Home City: The Vulpera Hideaway

Tucked deep within a secluded, twisting canyon, the Vulpera Hideaway is a sprawling, colorful oasis of nomadic life. Built from salvaged wood, brightly dyed cloths, and bones of massive desert beasts, it is a bustling sanctuary where various caravans gather to trade, share stories, and rest from the harsh desert sun.

Because the Vulpera are entirely nomadic, they do not build permanent stone structures or massive palaces. The Hideaway acts as their primary cultural hub, consisting of a vast network of caravan wagons, communal cooking fires, and scavenged trade stalls. This nomadic lifestyle is reflected in their gameplay via their Make Camp racial ability, which allows them to pitch a personal tent anywhere in the world and instantly teleport back to it at any time.

Leader: The Caravan Captains

The Vulpera do not have a single king, queen, or centralized government. Instead, their society is divided into small, independent family units called Caravans, each led by a capable captain. Their leadership is completely merit-based, focusing on practical survival skills and resource management.

  • Kiro: The de facto leader of the Vulpera and the captain of the primary caravan players interact with. Kiro is a calm, pragmatic, and deeply protective strategist. He is the one who realized that the Vulpera could no longer survive hidden in the desert alone, ultimately leading the diplomatic mission to Orgrimmar to secure their alliance with the Horde.
  • Nisha: A fierce, aggressive caravan fighter who acts as the primary military commander for the Vulpera. Unlike the more diplomatic Kiro, Nisha believes in meeting cruelty with overwhelming force. She spearheaded the guerrilla warfare tactics that broke the back of the Sethrak slave empire, earning her immense respect among her people as a wartime leader.
  • Meera: A cheerful, musically inclined caravan driver responsible for logistics, scouting, and morale. Meera represents the lighter, unbreakable spirit of the Vulpera, famously using her alpaca-drawn wagon to smuggle supplies, rescue wounded allies, and keep the spirits of her people alive through song during their darkest moments.
