This is a large backpack, specially fit for storing implants. It is sterile and warm, and conserves the implants well. This one can contain 100 kilograms.

There used to be a time when the physical limitations of someone's body would come between a person and their ambitions. With the introduction of body augmentations, these previous issues are history.
Implants are available for 13 different parts of the body. They are composed of a max of 3 Clusters, each of a different type: shining, bright, and faded. Every skill has a shining, bright, and faded cluster, and each cluster may only be placed in an pre-defined location (e.g. a shining Matter Creation cluster can only be placed in a Brain implant).

The forms of Nano enhancements are numerous. You can have the typical Nano Formulas (programs running, controlled by your NCU...), the short-term effects gotten from aodb_items pumping nanobots into your system. (Stims and pills being the normal variety.)
One of the more sophisticated implementations is the so called symbio-tech found in implants. Taking energy from your body, using the normal nutrient system, these specialized pieces of bio-nano machinery can enhance virtually ALL types of skills and abilities. They last forever, but require the use of a Surgery Clinic to install. (Stations can be found in most major cities. Portable units available for most skill physicians.)
The Implants are charged with so-called Nano Clusters (NC). They are crystallized clusters of nanobots, activated upon installment. They come in 3 forms: 1) Faded, 2) Bright, and 3) Shining. This 'title' has been given them by the NC manufacturers upon creation, and tell you something of their ability to enhance psycho-physiology.
The interesting point was that Cryo-Tech (one of the instigators of this form of technology) made it so that their implants which normally only hosted ONE type of Shiny Nano Clusters, now could almost free of cost, host 1 Bright and 1 Faded NC in addition. This so much became the norm, that today you cannot find implants hosting two faded Nano Clusters and so on. Budget models of Implants host 1 faded NC or 1 Bright NC, or all the thinkable combinations.
There are also 4 models of Implants. They are called 'Basic', 'Faded', 'Bright' and 'Shining' Implants. They host:the corresponding Nano Cluster! (Note, an Implant will get its name from the highest type of nano cluster. (Shining over Bright etc). This does not mean that the implant does not also contain a lower type of nanocluster..
IMPORTANT: All implants can be fitted with up to 3 NCs, if you change them using Trade Skills! Good money may be made with other players for doing this service...
