Lady Ettard betrayed her husband Pelleas with Gawaine. When Pelleas finds out only his grief is stronger than his anger at her. Regretting she meets with the Lady of the Lake to whom she sacrifices her wedding ring in hopes of getting him back. The Lady of the Lake condemns her, and goes to comfort Pelleas leaving Lady Ettard alone and heartbroken.
