This is a shard from a small, marble-sized crystal. At first glance it seems rather un-noteworthy, but further inspection reveals a nanobot fragmentation pattern matrix within - The same technology used to encode nano crystals. At a guess, this one would program some kind of communications nanobots, but you cannot be sure without the missing piece, or the compiler unit.
