Rollerrat in a Cage | 1 - 1 |
Description
There isn't really a rollerrat in here; despite their generally well-known 'pest' status the Rubi-Kan Animal Defense Society has previously put up quite the fight to... er... "protect" this.... oh jeeze... "noble creature". I can't believe I just typed that. Anyway, despite the fact that rollerrats are typically viewed as the abomination they are, the RKADS has gone to bat for the creature many times in the past, attempting to prevent medical facilities from utilizing them for laboratory experiments (not that big of a concern since their shrill cries tend to eventually drive any lab assistants completely insane), blocking one particularly notorious chef from using the rodent as the starring feature in his latest high-concept restaurant ("Rodentia in Borealis" was not open for long, but few believe the blame to lie on the RKADS), and, perhaps most famously... public awareness campaigns decrying the use of rollerrats as an alternative energy source.
No, you read that right. And really, if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense.
Skipping past all of the details - a rather long story involving an atrox named Zeke and his faithful rollerrat companion Ball, who actually managed to save an entire orphanage once; really thrilling stuff, to tell the truth, but we can save it for another time. Anyway, skipping all of that, the RKADS wasn't very thrilled with the idea of mass-cloning rollerrats and forcing them into servitutde (you should hear their opinion of the Manex Barleet some time), and caused a huge hubbub about the whole thing, grid petitions with thousands of virtual signatures, web comics about a rollerrat named Phil, the whole nine yards. Wow, this is getting long, isn't it? So their campaign was a success, and Plumbo lost a lot of money (don't ask how they were involved) and Zeke got ripped off and Ball ended up with a book deal and... look, to make a long story short, using a rollerrat as a power source may seem like a good idea, but it isn't.
So this isn't a rollerrat in a cage. It's an extremely life-like hologram that just looks like a rollerrat in a cage. Rather than generate power, it actively drains it. Why you would want it? Anyone's guess. But now it's yours. Enjoy!
