This new technology was recently hailed as an amazing breakthrough for the science-powerhouse corporation Nippontech. Designed to physically alter the structure of whatever it was attached to, the injector literally imbeds hard-light projectors into the surface of a desired object, which then create a low-density energy field around its form.

Dubbed Enersteel, this concept was a key focus of production across no less than three Nippontech-owned systems... until it was discovered that the injection process left sub-surface shattering within a wider range of materials than previously identified in testing, and in reality could only be safely applied to only a few, extremely limited types of defensive weapons.. Nippontech managed to salvage their losses, however, by repurposing the injector as a safe excavation tool for asteroid gas mining operations.
