This small crystal-like shard seems to have a fleeting quality, like it's not entirely of this world. Apparently, some of the inhabitants in Shadowlands were, at the time of death, imprinted with images so powerful that their restless spirits may release these ephemeral shards when released. With the right equipment, someone who knows what they're doing could be able to extract information from this.
