Frozen Shiver Spider Bone | 1 - 1 |
Description
The bones of the Shiver Spider are quite remarkable, despite appearing thin and glasslike they have the strength of the hard-cast metaplast. Some ancient artifacts recovered from the Shadowlands by JOBE scientists suggest that the early Xan civilization revered the spider as a mother god. They believed that the spider displayed such great strength and grace as the webs they spun were the very fabric with which space and time was held together. Whilst subsequent generations made scientific advances that disproved the 'universe as spider web' theory, the belief that spiders were a sacred form seems to have survived intact. Some less credible commentators even point to modern 'cult of the eight' beliefs as evidence of the inherent link between Shadowlands and Rubi-Ka itself.
Prominent Meta-Physicist Frasier D Bane's grid essay 'The Maternity of the Eight' that describes in detail many of the spider related belief structures is consistently amongst the IRRK's most connected to grid streams, and is particulrly popular amongst conspiracy theorists who believe that the spider mother god still dictates everything that happens in the universe.
