Light Combat Armor is mostly used by people not working directly in the line of fire, such as medics and engineers. It does not provide great protection, but is quite comfortable to wear and allows you freedom of movement for highly skilled work. The main protection function can be turned on and off by the user, as a certain amount of mental and physical stamina is needed to keep it activated over a long period of time.
