Believed to be perhaps one of the earliest life forms on Earth, the "strange berry" is a pink, rotten cabbage-smelling bacterium known to be used to gobble up heavy metals, radioactive wastes and other substances that pollute the soil and groundwater at nuclear production sites. Maybe with some unprogrammed DNA that these bio-bots can attach themselves to this could become useful.
